INFORMATION ABOUT NORTH CYPRUS

    

  The island of Cyprus is the third largest in the Mediterranean and dates back 200 million years. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), covers an area approximately 3,355 square kilometre and encompasses the northern range of the Troodos Mountains.

   Northern Cyprus consists of four major towns, the capital being Lefkosa (Nicosia), which serves as the main administration and business centre. The other main towns include Magosa (Famagusta), the country’s principal port; Girne (Kyrenia), the main tourist centre well known for its ancient 'horseshoe' harbour, and Guzelyurt the centre of the citrus fruit industry.
 
   Known as the ‘unspoiled jewel of the Mediterranean’, Northern Cyprus has retained all of its natural charm and beauty and offers a unique insight into a quality of life that most of us have only ever dream of.
